Suzhou
is a municipality of Jiangsu Province on the eastern coast of China.
It is situated 100 km to the west of Shanghai and adjacent to east
of Taihu Lake. It is seated on the hinterland of the Yangtze River
Delta - the Golden Triangle. The Golden Triangle is one of China's
most densely populated areas with an estimated 70 million farmers
in the region. Covering 1% of the country's total land area, this
delta region yields 20% of the country's GDP and accounts for 6.7%
of total farmed acreage in China. |
